2026 Open Enrollment

You can make your 2026 benefit elections starting at 9 a.m. ET on Wednesday, Nov. 5, until 11:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Nov. 19. Please read the details below and visit the 2026 U.S. Benefits Open Enrollment Prism page to learn more.

If You Don’t Enroll

Due to changes in the medical plan offerings for 2026, if you don’t complete your Open Enrollment, the following will occur:

  • All employees enrolled in Aetna will be migrated to the equivalent SmarterCare plan with Anthem, with the exception of the Healthy Focus Advantage, Healthy Focus Premier and Classic Network plans.
    • If you are currently enrolled in the Healthy Focus Advantage or Premier Plan, you will be defaulted to the new SmarterCare Elite plan.
    • If you are currently enrolled in the Classic Network Plan, you will be defaulted to the SmarterCare PPO plan.
  • If you are currently enrolled in the Tricare Supplement Plan, you will be defaulted to no medical coverage.

In addition, as in previous years, employees will default to most current 2025 elections if they do not enroll for 2026, with the exception of HSA, FSA, and Cash Accumulation Fund (CAF) elections which will default to waived.

What's New Or Changing for 2026

MEDICAL

Leidos is pleased to announce that we have partnered with Anthem BCBS as the sole administrator of our Consumer Directed Health Plans (CDHPs) and the new Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan beginning January 1, 2026. As part of this transition, Aetna will no longer be a medical carrier for Leidos.

Under Anthem, members will have access to Total Health Connections, Anthem's elevated member advocacy and clinical management solution which combines personalized support with advanced technology to help members proactively manage their care, connect with resources and navigate the healthcare system.

In addition, prescription drug coverage will move from Express Scripts (ESI) to Capital Rx, effective January 1, 2026.

ANTHEM BCBS

Transition of Care

The Plan allows continuation of care at an out-of-network provider for a certain period of time, if at the time of transition to Anthem, the member:

  • is under an active course of treatment for an acute medical condition or serious chronic condition. Services may be provided until treatment is completed or a safe transfer to a network provider can be arranged
  • is pregnant
  • has a terminal illness
  • has a scheduled surgery or procedure scheduled to occur within 180 days of coverage under Anthem.

You must complete a Continuation of Care Form and submit to Anthem BCBS for approval.

NEW SMARTERCARE PPO MEDICAL PLAN

The SmarterCare PPO Plan will replace the Classic Network Plan, giving you more flexibility with access to both in-network and out-of-network providers. The PPO plan also includes enhanced features such as lower deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums. Plus, prescription drugs are covered without being subject to the deductible.

NEW SmarterCare CDHP Medical Plans

  • The Healthy Focus Basic Plan has been renamed as the SmarterCare Basic Plan. The SmarterCare Basic Plan has richer benefits including lower deductibles, lower out-of-pocket maximums and lower member coinsurance.
  • The Healthy Focus Essential Plan has been renamed as the SmarterCare Essential Plan. The SmarterCare Essential Plan has lower member coinsurance; however, generic drug copay increased.
  • The Healthy Focus Advantage Plan and the Healthy Focus Premier Plan are consolidated into the SmarterCare Elite Plan.
    • Employees currently enrolled in the Advantage Plan will see enhanced benefits under the Elite Plan, including lower out-of-pocket maximums and lower member coinsurance; however, generic drug copay will increase.
    • Employees currently enrolled in the Premier Plan will see higher out-of-pocket maximums and higher employee coinsurance under the Elite Plan.

NEW RX PARTNER – CAPITAL RX

Capital Rx is a pharmacy benefit manager that administers prescription benefit plans on behalf of employers.  They are dedicated to bringing greater transparency to prescription pricing and improving patient care to create meaningful, lasting changes to the healthcare system.

Transition of Care

Existing specialty and mail order medications will need to be transferred to Mail Order or Costco Specialty pharmacies. Most active prescriptions with remaining fills will transfer automatically to Costco pharmacies to be filled through Capital Rx. However, there are some exceptions:

  • Expired prescriptions
  • Prescriptions for controlled substances
  • Prescriptions with zero refills remaining
  • Prescriptions that are new or renewed that were not filled
  • Compound prescriptions
  • Prescriptions from a local retail pharmacy

Any prescription that is not eligible for transfer will require your healthcare provider to send a new prescription to Costco Mail Order or Specialty pharmacy.
