Health Advocate Services

Health Advocate is available throughout the year. When you call for the first time, you will be assigned a Personal Health Advocate (PHA). PHAs are typically registered nurses, supported by medical directors, and benefits and claims specialists who can help you navigate healthcare and insurance-related issues.

The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can get assistance with issues related to:

Medical Care

  • Find the right doctor, dentist, specialist or other provider
  • Schedule appointments
  • Locate the right treatment facilities
  • Answer questions about test results, treatments and medications
  • Research and locating the newest treatments
  • Help transfer medical records, X-rays and lab results

Health Insurance

  • Get help understanding coverage stipulations and alternatives for uncovered services
  • Obtain appropriate approval for covered services
  • Get help addressing coverage for simple and complex treatments

Medical Bills

  • Uncover mistakes
  • Negotiate fees, payment arrangements
  • Supply providers with required information to pay a claim
  • Get to the bottom of coverage denials
  • Advise about appeals rights

Eldercare and Caregiver Services

  • Clarify Medicare, Medicaid and Medicare Supplemental plans
